ScreenPlace Use Case

How to Set an Exact Window Size on Mac

Edit window in the ScreenPlace app

Sometimes you need a window to have a specific size on your Mac. For example, you might like to keep Safari, Notes, and Mail windows at exactly the same size in the center of your screen, one behind another, and switch between them to focus on one app at a time.

macOS lets you resize each window manually by dragging it, but with ScreenPlace you can set the exact width and height of any window.

Enter the Exact Width and Height

Just add a new window in ScreenPlace and enter the exact width and height you need for it, such as 1920 by 1080. You can also set precise X and Y values to place the window exactly where you want it on your screen.

Use a Different Size for Each Display Configuration

You can configure a different size and position of a window for each display configuration that you use. For example, a window can have a size of 1920 by 1080 on your monitor and fill the entire screen when you are using only your MacBook’s display.

Apply with the Badge

Once the size and position of the window are configured in ScreenPlace for your current display configuration, you can always use the badge to snap it back into place with a single click.

Apply Automatically

Just enable auto-apply in the settings of the app and when adding a window, and ScreenPlace will take it from there - every time you open the window, it will have the exact size and position that you have configured for it.

Auto-apply requires ScreenPlace Ultra, which also comes with multi-display support, global shortcuts, reusable templates, and more - it’s a one-time purchase with no subscription.
